As well as recording VS observations I also record the number of clear or partly clear nights(c/c) when observing can be done.My criteria for clear is a sky ( clear) with less than 50% cloud or at least a prolonged period of total clear sky and for a partly clear sky (cc) is more than 50% cloud cover or persitant moving cloud. These are somewhat ambiguous definitions, the important figure is the total number of nights when some observing can be done. I have plotted totals for clear and partly clear nights in the graphs below. To the right of the plot is the data table for these charts.
Total number of VS obs for 2003 are 288 Total number of days observing is 89
Total number of VS obs for 2004 are 447 Total number of days observing is 67
Total number of VS obs for 2005 are 956 Total number of days observing is 106
Total number of VS obs for 2006 are 1016 Total number of days observing is ?
Total number of VS obs for 2007 are 951 Total number of days observing is 106 Time away from the UK resulted in the following un-recorded observations of observing conditions: June - 6 days, July - 7 days, August - 4 days and September - 3 days.
