Introduction:

My main instrument housed in the observatory is a LX200GPS 10" F10 telescope with EMC coatings. Taking into acount many of the telescopes shortcomings the instrument is overall of excellent quality. I have made a number improvements to the telescope including fitting stainless steel drive gears and machining the Declination worm gear. These changes have provided smoother tracking and GOTO pointing to within a few arc minutes.
The telescope is currently operating in Alt/Az mode but will fitted to a wedge in the near future allowing long CCD imaging for photometry.

Auxillary Instruments:

Mounted piggyback on the 10" telescope is an ETX90 Maksutov Cassegrain instrument. A meade DSI PRO CCD camera is permanently fitted for imaging. This is mounted onto to one of two dovetail plates the lower plate carrying the counterweight.
The whole system is fitted with heaters operated by a Kendrick digifire7 controller, an estenial item in the UK.
